Memorial Day, 2010

Brody and I went to Cambria's annual Memorial Day celebration at Morgan Creek and the Cambria Cemetary. Brody got to throw the poppy wreath in the creek and he did a great job. At the cemetary he put flowers on the veteran's graves - remember when that was our job, Maizie:)? Then he posed for a picture with Papa(great-grandpa) Jones.

Happy 1/2 Birthday!

Brenley is six months old today! It's fun to see her growing and changing every day, but sad, too. She goes to the Dr. a week from tomorrow so I will update her stats then.

*Grandma apologizes for what seems like the same picture all the time. She will look at the camera but have a hard time getting her to smile at that black box!

Smores

We had a fire Sunday night so we could have smores. Lasted about half an hour before the gnats drove us inside.

Two in the Tub

Brenley got a new bath seat so both kids can be in the tub at once. Not sure how often it will happen - especially when she is already after his toys!

Shopping!

Ryan and Brody went to St. James on Saturday to visit Ryan's Grandpa and Grandma Nordby. Brody had a blast in the boat and checking everything out. Ryan has some pictures on his phone that I will try to post later. While they were gone the girls did what we do best - shopping! Brenley was really good the whole day.

BRODY'S NEW (OLD) TOY

While we were at my parents today Brody found this old truck that actually belonged to my dad! I wasn't completely listening when they were trying to figure out how old it was, but I think my dad said he got it when he was in 6th grade. Brody thought it was the greatest and of course, had to bring it home so he could play with it more!

CLAIRE'S GYMNASTICS SHOW

Claire had her spring show for gymnastics on Saturday. She had the biggest fan club there! She did such a great job. After the show, everyone came to our house for a BBQ. The kids especially enjoyed their desserts and Brenley had a good time being held by lots of family members.

VEHICLE FAIR

After the hair cuts we stopped by the ECFE Vehicle Fair. Once again, we were right up Brody's alley. This time he actually got in most of the vehicles. The cop car, and ranger were a hit. He ran in the back of a semi and sat in a school bus. It was a beautiful day, oh and did I mention they had combines:)

FAMILY HAIR CUTS

We had two children that both needed a hair cut! Brenley's wasn't so bad- just a few snips here and there- but Brody's was pretty out of control. We buzzed him up nice and short for summer! He looks pretty handsome, if you ask me! Brenley wasn't all about sitting still. She didn't understand why she couldn't jumpie jumpie while she was getting her hair cut. At least it was just a few strands that needed trimming.

SYTTENDE MAI

We traveled all the way to Hanska for the Syttende Mai parade. It was a beautiful day. Perfect for a parade. Brody ran into lots of friends, and Brenley slept! That is, after she was passed around most of Ryan's family. Lots took turns letting Brenley jump on their legs.

PARKING LOT PARTY

We were in Mankato picking up Brody's 2 year pictures, and we discovered this Parking Lot Party. It was a fundraiser for the Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota. It was the best dollar we've spent in a long time! Brody had his face painted. He wanted a bug, but the lady kind of screwed it up, so he ended up with a brown sun! He danced to the music with lots of kids and earned some beads. He fished, went in a playhouse, jumped on a trampoline and enjoyed a root beer float. To top it all off, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day! Brenley came along too- but she slept the whole time, so no pictures of her.

LAST DAY

It was Brody's last day of swimming lessons for this session. Mommy got to swim with him today, since daddy was working. We had a fun time swimming and going down the big slide. Brody got a certificate at the end of his class. He was pretty proud of it, showing it to mommy and his baby!

MOTHER'S DAY

Ryan and I went to the Twins game for Mother's Day! The stadium is beautiful and it was a perfect day (if you were in the sun, which we were). The kids were lucky enough to spend Mother's Day with Grandma and Grandpa. They went to Taco John's for lunch and then spent the afternoon at Sibley Park. Sounds like fun was had by all!

Just a few more pictures from swimming lessons. Only one week left! Brody really likes his teacher, he will do anything she asks him to do. I think he may have a small crush on her! I swear in the last picture he did not go down the big slide by himself- Ryan was just under the water!
