POOL PARTY

We had so much fun at the pool on Monday, we went back on Tuesday with friends. Some storms came and we had to leave early- but we were there for about an hour and the kids had fun. Plus we ate McDonalds for lunch before swimming so it was a big day. Brody and Brogan are about 4 months apart and they are finally starting to look the same age. It was fun to watch them play together and we already talked about setting up another playdate.

KIDDIE POOL

My mom and I took Brody to the pool on Monday afternoon. I wanted to check it out before we made plans to meet other kids there, just to make sure Brody liked it, and he LOVED it! The slide was his favorite but he always enjoyed flirting with the lifeguard and talking to everyone else who was there. He is getting good with his flirting. He charmed the waitress at Happy Joe's so much she brought him a toy!

MORE DUCK DAYS

Saturday brought more time in Lake Crystal at Duck Days. They had turtle races, a petting zoo and games for the kids. Brody thought the petting zoo was B.S. cause they wouldn't let him in the goat pen like they did at the zoo. He did enjoy his pony ride and I had to run along side of him to keep up. He rode one-handed, just like a real cowboy!

DUCK DAYS PARADE

On Friday we went to the annual Duck Days Parade. We go to Taid's to eat supper (along with 50 other people, half of them I swear I didn't know!) and then watch the parade go right by his house. Brody did very good, considering the parade was about 2 hours long. He didn't sit in his chair very long- so it was surprising we caught a picture of him sitting in Everett's chair. He did enjoy running up and down the sidewalk. I think he was just practicing for the 4th of July Parade that he will actually get to be in! He also liked eating Grandma's Special K Bars.

MN ZOO

Me, mom, Brody, Mary Ellen, Marla, Lisa, Claire, Everett, Nate and Heidi all went to the Minnesota Zoo today. It really was a great day to be there. We went early enough where there was no rain, and the weather forecast kept lots of people away so it wasn't very busy. Brody has been on an animal kick lately so we knew he would enjoy himself. Here are a few pictures of his favorite things from the zoo.
Brody loved seeing the giraffes.
They were so close
to him and for a small fee
the kids got to feed them!
Their tongues were so long
when Brody was done his
entire arm was covered with
giraffe slobber!

He also really liked the farm. He got to see sheep, cows, horses, pigs, chickens and goats. Plus a tractor pulled our wagon to the farm. He kept looking for Grandpa, he thought Grandpa would be driving the tractor. The kids actually got to go in the goat pen and just run around with the goats. Brody could have stayed there all day.

We brought the wagon for the boys to ride in, but Brody preferred being out where he could see things- and riding on Uncle Nate's shoulders gave him a great view! It was a super fun day at the zoo, and I am sure we will go back again this summer.

Everett's Birthday Party

Everett turned 1 on June 11th and we had a great time celebrating with him and family on Sunday the 14th. It was a beautiful day so the kids had a blast outside. Brody helped with the presents and had fun playing with Claire, Addy, Dirk and EJ. Everett got a 4 wheeler for his birthday so now they all have one. I couldn't get a picture with Claire in it because hers goes too fast! Everett also got a new pool so we went to Marla's for a pool party that afternoon. Even though the boys didn't actually get in the water (too cold) they looked cute playing in their swim trunks. Notice on both of them, their trunks come down to their ankles!

BOOKS

Brody's new favorite thing to play with is books! I never thought the day would come where we could sit still long enough to enjoy a book, but it has! This picture is from the other night when my dad was babysitting and Brody just wanted to sit in the chair and read books. Grandpa would hand him a new one when he was ready for it.

Monkey Man

Brody has become somewhat of a monkey the past few weeks. He likes to climb on everything. This includes climbing out of high chairs when we are out to eat too. My new biggest pet peeve is when we go to a restaurant and they don't have any high chairs with buckles that work! He also likes to climb on the window and juts hang out. He will read books, eat his breakfast and watch the birds from that perch. We've added the step stool to make it easier and hopefully less dangerous!

ROAD WORK

They have been doing some work to our driveway and highway 6 the past week or so. There has been huge machines left in our yard and various people working on this project. To me, its a pain to deal with- but to these two, its enough entertainment for a whole day! They could sit by the door and watch all day long.

Pictures

Sorry for the delay...turns out summer vacation with a 14 month old is not much of a vacation at all! Don't get me wrong I wouldn't trade my time off for anything- but we have been busy! Here are some picture of Brody and Everett from the other night.

BRR

It was a very cold and wet weekend so we did not spend a lot of time outside. On Saturday, Ryan and I took Brody to open swim at the Rec Center in Lake Crystal. He had a good time, and even saw some of his daycare buddies there. I think he went down the slide 15 times! That night Ross, Lisa and the kids came over for supper. I think they were getting bored being trapped indoors as well. It appears the rain has ended for now, but we are still waiting on the warm weather.
I have some pictures of Brody and Everett- I will post those later today.

PINK EYE

Brody's eye looked a little red on Saturday so we took him to urgent care to discover he has pink eye. Can you believe we've made it almost 14 months without an ear infection but the poor kid gets pink eye! It doesn't appear to bother him at all- until you have to put the drops in. That is a two person job and he gets so mad. On Sunday after we got them in and he was crying I told him "Icky drops, lets throw them in the garbage." Brody proceeded to take the drops from my hand, walk them over to the garbage can and throw them away! I had to wait until he wasn't looking fish them back out of the garbage. What a stinker.

Sibley Park

We took Brody to Sibley Park back in August before I started working and he started daycare. At that time they were in the process of adding animals so there wasn't much to see. We figured Sunday would be a good day to see how far they've come since I am officially done working for the summer after tomorrow. Grandpa and Grandma came with too. Brody has been getting good at telling you what cow says, and a sheep too. But on Sunday- every time you asked him-all he said was BAA! To give him some credit, we have seen a lot of cows in the last few weeks and none of them will MOO for us! No wonder he is confused! We ate lunch outside and enjoyed the nice day. Hope you all did as well.

PLAZA

We went to Plaza Girabaldi with Uncle Nate on Saturday. Might surprise some of you that I would eat there, but apparently while pregnant I eat anything! Brody just loved this place. The waiters would stop at our table every time they walked by just to play with him and the fountain was the best part. It looks like Brody is trying to drink the water- but I think he was trying to climb in and get more pennies.

Brody's Girlfriend

I'm sorry little ladies, it appears Brody has a girlfriend. And she sure is a cutie! Evie's daddy and Ryan play softball together so we usually see the whole Batt Crew once a week in Courtland. Evie is 2 months older than Brody and she already knows the way to a boy's heart..SHE FEEDS HIM! She is always willing to put cheerios in his mouth, or let him lick her sucker. Brody thinks she's a keeper: )
